So Here's My Resignation Letter

Dear loyal readers and moderators of OppositeLock,

After the news about the upcoming Kinja update broke out, I saw Death coming for me in a '57 Chevy Bel Air that was fashioned from shadows. Some of you knew this was going to happen.

I regret to inform you that I'm resigning from OppositeLock. My last day will be the day the Kinja update rolls out, which is, according to a Gawker IT technician named Ernie, in 1-3 weeks. I've joked about quitting in the past, but this is no joke.

For reasons unknown, the Gawker IT team is unable to make Kinja any more colourblind-friendly than it is now. The buttons and links in the Kinja update preview are impossible for me to see. Light colours on white? Whose idea was that? Niccolò, my personal IT technician, spent the past two weeks looking for a workaround for me, but he didn't have any luck. So I won't be able to navigate and participate in discussions with ease. That being said, the Kinja update will force me to abandon the already sinking ship and start swimming to Calypso's Island.

I've been writing and publishing posts to OppositeLock non-stop for over 6 months now. So it's safe to say that my experience as an author was thrilling! Not to mention there was some unintended drama! There are many great people who helped me with my writing and social skills (being a cheerful Kiwi on an American forum was quite an experience). I learnt a lot more about cars as well. My goals have been accomplished, but I wish I can be around longer.

I will return once the Gawker IT team fixes the utterly simple colouring issue. Unfortunately, that won't happen anytime soon.

Oh, and you don't have to write me a reference because I already have a solid author position on another car forum that is far more colourblind-friendly.

Thank you for everything you've done to help me become a better author. Cheers!

P.S. GameCat235, ja, that's a Volkswagen New Beetle. I asked my son to draw it for you as a thank you. :)

P.S.S. If you want to comment on this post, my non-colourblind husband will recommend your comment to make it visible for me.
